About Lainey
I am a Chemistry tutor with over 4 years of experience and a BSc in Chemistry. I specialise in making quantum chemistry concepts accessible and engaging for university students. My lessons focus on atomic and molecular orbitals, bonding theories, and spectroscopic transitions.
I use illustrative models, visualisations, and step-by-step theoretical derivations to simplify complex ideas. Students learn to connect abstract concepts with real chemical behaviour. I have worked with chemistry majors and physical science students, helping them strengthen both understanding and problem-solving skills.
I emphasise clarity, logical reasoning, and practical application in every session. Together, we explore wavefunctions, orbital interactions, and electron distributions with confidence and precision. Assignments and exam preparation are approached in a structured, manageable way.

My teaching approach focuses on making chemistry clear, structured, and meaningful. I cover core topics like atomic structure, chemical bonding, and molecular geometry, as well as biochemistry, macromolecules such as proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids, metabolic pathways, and enzyme kinetics. I use deep analytical review and structured case studies to help students understand complex processes step by step.
Lessons are designed to connect concepts logically, reinforcing understanding through examples and practical applications. I guide students in analysing reactions, interpreting data, and linking chemical principles to biological systems. Assignments and problem-solving exercises are approached strategically to build confidence and mastery.
