About Michelle
My name is Michelle and I have been teaching in Chicago Public Schools for 11 years. I have spent most of my time in middle school, though I have tutored all ages and have an endorsement in early childhood special education. I received my BA in special education from Illinois State and my M.Ed in special education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I have been tutoring during the summer and after school for 5 years in different capacities. I currently teach ELA and math, but have dabbled in science and social studies over the years as well!

I am a special education teacher with 11 years of experience in 3rd- 8th grade, but with most of my time (and love!) being spent in middle school. I am down to earth, flexible, and willing to work with you to ensure you are learning in a way that makes sense for your needs and abilities. I have worked with students with moderate to severe disabilities, but have spent most of my time with learners with mild learning disabilities who just need a little extra help or a different way of approaching things. I am well-versed in state test preparations as well as the HSAT (High School Admissions Test). If you are someone who needs support getting organized, getting systems in place, prepping for a test, or digging deeper on a specific subject, I am your girl!
