I believe every child learns in a different way. Finding the way a student is able to learn and be successful is the key to my lessons. Hands on activities are helpful for math.
Math Focus (25 mins)
Review (5 mins): Go over last week’s concept or homework.
Mini-Lesson (10 mins): Teach or reinforce a concept
Guided Practice (5–7 mins): Work through a few problems together.
Independent Practice (3–5 mins): Have them try a few on their own while you observe.
Reading/ELA Focus (25 mins)
Fluency/Phonics (K–2) or Comprehension/Vocabulary (3–6).
Mini-Lesson (10 mins): Could include a read-aloud or close reading passage.
Guided Reading or Practice (10 mins): Ask comprehension questions or do a phonics activity.
Wrap-Up Activity (5 mins): Game, retell, vocabulary matching, or short writing response.
