As a tutor, I specialize in math instruction for students from middle school through GED and college prep levels. I use a trauma-informed, neuroscience-based approach that focuses on reducing anxiety, building confidence, and teaching in ways that align with how the brain learns best. I often include guided problem-solving, discussion, and teach students how to think through problems independently. Lessons end with a brief reflection and an optional challenge to encourage growth.
What sets me apart is my background in psychology and education, including a Master’s in Education focused on Neuroscience and Trauma, which gives me a deep understanding of how stress and past academic struggles impact learning. I provide a calm, compassionate, and empowering learning environment for students who may have checked out in traditional classrooms.
My lessons are ideal for middle and high school students needing math support, adult learners preparing for the GED, and college-bound students who need help with placement tests or foundational math.
