I have been a middle school and high school teacher for over twelve years, including at Gunn High School in Palo Alto. I have two California Teaching Credentials in Mathematics and Science. I am an alumni of Penn and Stanford.

The lesson needs to have clear objectives of what my students are about to embark on and why it is important. Instructions should be clear and easy to understand. Lessons should have active engagement activities. Students learn best by doing, so hands-on activities enhance learning objectives. I incorporate whiteboards, small group discussions, and technology-based activities to keep students on their toes and their mind moving. To help students develop critical thinking skills, I question students -- asking how, why, if and what else questions to strengthen their comprehension of the issues at hand. A method of assessment is very important to make sure they learn the material to meet the objectives of the lesson.
