About Maimounatou Afia
I am a former International Baccalaureate student, where I studied Economics at Higher Level and received a 6/7. I have also taken a Microeconomics course at Concordia University, where I received an A+.
Although I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering, I have built a strong foundation in economics and especially enjoy microeconomics. I like understanding how models work and, more importantly, understanding the reasoning behind them.
I like to think of myself as patient, attentive, and methodical. My goal is to help you not only understand the material, but become more confident and independent when solving problems.

I have always hated tutoring sessions that felt like a lecture. Even if it was a better explanation, I am convinced that tutoring should feel different; more interactive.
Asking questions, seeing how the student perceives a concept, and checking if it aligns with the thought process required to understand the topic.
People often say economics is just logic. But to me, that’s not quite it. It is about understanding which logic gives you the result that a specific model claims to be true. It is about truly putting yourself in the position of the buyer or the seller.
If you are in CEGEP or just starting university, I am convinced that I can help you understand microeconomics!
