About Laxy
My name is Laxy Thokolo, a BSC graduate in Microbiology and Botany. I have a huge passion for Math and Biology. They are two subjects I feel entirely confident in and this reflected my ability to teach in a simple, yet highly effective manner to cater to students of all standards and abilities. Over the years, I have built up considerable life skills and experiences that have enabled me to become an efficient tutor. I am the type of tutor who will come into the role and make a positive impact on those students I am teaching. Throughout my school days, I have always received awards as the top achiever in overall performance in my school. I also loved helping my classmates with schoolwork, including those who always requested my help in my neighborhood.

I have a huge passion for math and science and I also believe that it is essential that as a math or science teacher, you use everyday scenarios the learners can relate to in order to teach the subject. It also makes it easier to maintain a learner's attention for a longer period. I am able to teach in Sepedi and English. An adaptive style of communication is one of my qualities as no two learners ever learn the same way. As a tutor, I will provide a strong planning of the subject curriculum. I allow students to engage and ask questions perhaps they do not understand a certain topic. Analyzing the topic and strategic planning on how to tackle the questions are the most important parts of a lesson. Patience, communication skills, and in-depth knowledge of the subject matter so that you can help the learners overcome the stress of examination and the challenges they will face while going through their personal development. I believe I can work perfectly with students of high school and primary level as I am an understanding and patient person who knows that students will never be or learn the same way.
