About Alex
I am an Engineering student passionate about all things mechanical, mathematical and how the world around us works. I understand how hard things like maths and physics are to get your head around, but also that once you do, the satisfaction of completing a tricky question correctly and efficiently (and also seeing that test result when you get it right!). I work in a relaxed yet professional way that helps people learn but also engaged throughout my lessons.

I am passionate about the subjects that surround engineering including maths and physics. In school, I found conventional teaching method of memorisation and repetition never worked for me and I would lose focus and interest. Throughout my exam journey, I found an alternative way of working. This included learning the reasons why something is what it is, rather than just memorising the method. This type of learning has excellent real-world applications, not only improving on problem solving and critical thinking but is also exceptionally useful in exams. When looking at exam questions under pressure often your mind goes blank, but using the skills I'll teach, you'll be able to figure out how to answer the question, even when memorisation fails. I look forward to building a genuine bond with my students and passing on the skills that took me so long to discover! My lessons are aimed at GCSE and A-level students. Lesson Length are typically 1-2 hours though I'm flexible for other times. Qualifications include: -9 GCSEs -A-level Chemistry, Maths and Engineering -3rd year masters of engineering student at Newcastle University predicted a 1st
