About James
I have just finished my 1st year at medical school at The University of Southampton.
Previously, I worked at Skinners' Kent Academy as a Learning Mentor in mathematics and science, working with pupils of a range of ages of all abilities.
I have also worked as a private tutor in GCSE and A level mathematics and GCSE science.

My lessons are tailored to the students needs.
If the student is learning new content, I will teach the relevant background information and run through practice questions, showing them how to answer them. Then we will go through more questions together. As the student gets more confident, I will make sure that the question approach is student led with me offering top tips when needed.
The approach I use is a supportive, patient and thorough one, looking to build confidence wherever possible!

In 2019, James helped two of my grandchildren prepare for GCSE Maths and Science. They found that they could easily relate to James who was very professional and willing and able to answer their questions. As a result, they could face their exams without undue worry.
