About Tina-Maria
I am a very friendly and patient 4th year student at UCL. I am studying Medicinal Chemistry so I have quite the passion for Organic Chemistry and Pharmacology. I like to keep up to date with recent developments in the field and am always keen to find out more about the mechanisms of chemical reactions. Outside of Chemistry, my interests revolve around nature, football, animals and stargazing. I would like to be a tutor and help students with their work as I remember how when I was at school my teachers influenced my love for science and logic and helped me when I was struggling to understand a concept. I would be happy to do the same for anyone else and am led by my desire to help out students!

I prefer to adopt a student-focused approach considering the best ways a student learns, whether that is a visual, auditory or problem-solving based method. I will provide additional resources which would aid the student's learning process, for example videos showing a particular chemical reaction, or give more exercises to the student to facilitate the retention of material. A lesson would last 1 or 2 hours. In case of the latter there would be a small break in between the hours. This can be tailored to the student's needs but I believe 2 hours are more beneficial in order to be able to go over the homework and any additional questions properly. I have completed a tutoring training in Science where I could simultaneously focus on 4 different students. I am confident I will be able to dedicate the required attention to any student I work with. I have experience tutoring students in GCSE Science and Maths, and A-level Chemistry. My lessons in Chemistry, Maths and Science can be for everyone from primary school to A-levels and would be happy to tailor them to other qualifications as long as I have some notice to familiarise myself with the syllabus. I can tutor in Organic Chemistry university-level students as well.
