About Najma
Hi, I’m Najma, a dedicated student with a strong academic background in maths. I have studied maths at GCSE and studied maths and further maths at A-levels. Maths has always been my favourite subject through primary and secondary school and I love helping people find their own love for it too. Maths is more like a puzzle and can actually be fun once everything makes more sense. I have several years of tutoring experience and a genuine passion for helping students reach their potential.
During university, I took a short break from tutoring, but I realised quite quickly how much I missed it. Helping students with maths is something I genuinely enjoy, and I’ve been wanting to get back into it ever since.
I’m particularly motivated by helping students build confidence. In subjects like maths, confidence is more than just a trait — it completely changes the way you approach problems. Once you become more confident, you stop fearing what you don’t know. You start thinking through unfamiliar questions more calmly and logically and even topics you haven’t covered become somewhat understandable before you even learn them.
I also focus on developing a clear understanding of challenging topics, rather than relying on memorisation alone. This doesn’t just help with one topic — it builds a strong foundation that makes future topics much easier to learn.

I try to keep my lessons really relaxed and friendly — no pressure, no awkwardness — just a space where you can actually understand things properly and ask whatever you want.
Usually, we begin with a short recap or a few quick questions to check what you already know. This helps me adapt the lesson to your level immediately (so no time is wasted) as well as working things into your long-term memory.
I’ll go through the topic step-by-step in a way that actually makes sense, using PowerPoints, examples and simple explanations.
I focus a lot on helping you understand why things happen, because that’s what makes everything easier later on.
Then we’ll go through questions together before we level it up and I give you slightly harder exam-style questions. We will go over the mistakes carefully and I’ll help where I can so you aren’t left with any confusion.
I know how frustrating some topics can feel because I’ve been there myself — so I try to make lessons as clear, supportive, and stress-free as possible.
I have a few years of experience tutoring, mainly with primary school students, but I’ve also worked with GCSE students and really enjoy helping them build confidence in their subjects.
