About Samyuktha
Hi everyone!! I did my A-Levels in 2024 and got an A* in Chemistry and Biology as well as an A in English Literature. I did the BMAT and got a 7.2 in Section 1 as well as 5.7 in Section 2 in 2023, and I also got 2880 in the UCAT. In my GCSEs I got eight 9s, one 8 and one 7. I am currently a medical student at University College London, where I have learnt about the anatomy, physiology and pathology of various organs in the body, like the lungs, liver and kidneys. I find biology to be a very fascinating subject but a difficult one at A-Level due to the mark schemes and the amount of content you have to learn, and so I want to make it easier for you whilst still enjoying the subject. I did the Biology Olympiad in 2024 and got a Bronze in it, as well as researching the effect of music on epilepsy and giving a presentation to my Oxbridge group and various teachers. As for Chemistry, I have also had a particular interest in it, and I did the Cambridge Chemistry Challenge in Year 13 and got a Silver award. In my sixth form, I was the secretary for the Pre-Med society, in which I regularly took part in mentoring sessions for the Year 12s and 11s, where I would have to make the slides and plan the session in advance to tailor to their interests. As for experience, I also tutor as part of MedSchoolEntry where I tutor A-Level Chemistry and Biology, so I know what I am doing. I am also known to be one quick text away for any revision tips for any of my A-Levels, and so I hope I can use my skills to benefit you all!

I tutor GCSE and A-Level Biology by looking at the specification and orienting my lessons around it so my students have a clear understanding of what they need to know for exams. I make my slides based on the student's needs from that session, which consist of diagrams, pictures and writing explaining key concepts of the curriculum as well as past paper questions dotted through so concepts are frequently revisited (active recall) and I can check your understanding. As I found that the main struggle with Biology is not the concepts but the mark scheme, for all past paper questions I will attach the mark schemes and if possible give you standard points that they will expect for certain questions, kind of like model answers. I also start each session with some starter questions from concepts we have already had lessons on students know what they need to revise more and I know if we need an extra lesson on that topic. My aim is to make my lesson topics fit around what your school/college is teaching you at that time, however that can be adapted to fit your needs. I look forward to talking to you!
