• 1) When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  My fascination with medicine and biology began during my early school years, where I was captivated by the complexities of the human body and the natural world. This passion led me to pursue a medical degree. While in medical school, I started tutoring peers and younger students, discovering a profound satisfaction in helping others grasp challenging concepts. This experience ignited my interest in private tutoring, allowing me to share my knowledge and inspire others in their academic journeys.

• 2) Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I specialize in teaching biology and medical subjects, covering areas such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and pathology. I particularly enjoy discussing human anatomy and physiology, as understanding the structure and function of the body provides a foundation for all medical sciences. While I find all topics valuable, I am less inclined towards rote memorization aspects and prefer to focus on fostering a deep understanding of underlying principles.

• 3) Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  Yes, during my studies, I had a professor who was exceptional in making complex topics accessible and engaging. His teaching style was interactive and thought-provoking, encouraging students to think critically and ask questions. His passion for the subject matter and dedication to student success greatly inspired me and influenced my approach to teaching.

• 4) What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

  A good tutor should possess patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills. It's essential to be able to explain concepts in multiple ways to cater to different learning styles. Adaptability is also crucial, as each student has unique needs and paces of learning. Moreover, a genuine passion for the subject and a commitment to the student's success can significantly enhance the learning experience.

• 5) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  During my time in medical school, I was part of a study group where we used to teach each other different topics. One day, I was explaining a complex physiological process to my peers, and I noticed that using everyday analogies made the concept clearer for them. This experience taught me the importance of relating complex information to familiar ideas, a technique I now regularly employ in my tutoring sessions.

• 6) What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

  One of the challenges in the medical field is the vast amount of information that needs to be mastered. Staying updated with the latest research and advancements requires continuous learning and dedication. Additionally, conveying complex medical concepts in an understandable manner to students can be challenging but is essential for effective teaching.

• 7) Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  Beyond my passion for medicine, I have a deep interest in education and pedagogy. I am particularly enthusiastic about developing innovative teaching methods that make learning engaging and effective. I also enjoy integrating technology into education to enhance the learning experience.
