About Siyabend
Maths has always been a subject I’ve enjoyed — I see it as a beautiful mix of logic and problem-solving that anyone can learn to appreciate. I achieved a Grade 7 at GCSE and went on to study Maths at A-Level and now as part of my Mechanical Engineering degree at UEA. While studying, I often helped younger students with their Maths, and I found that teaching not only deepened my own understanding but also inspired me to make the subject clearer and less intimidating for others. I believe that with the right guidance, every student can improve their skills and even begin to enjoy Maths. I am patient, approachable, and committed to tailoring lessons to each student’s needs. My goal is to build confidence as well as knowledge, so students leave each session feeling more capable and motivated. My lessons focus on making Maths approachable and understandable. I begin by identifying which topics a student struggles with, then break them down into clear, manageable steps. We can also cover new concepts as they arise in class or focus on revision for upcoming exams. I use examples and step-by-step explanations to help ideas “stick” rather than just memorising methods. Lessons are interactive, with plenty of practice questions to build both understanding and exam confidence. My favourite tool for exam preparation are past papers as it directly what they will be doing their GCSE's so we will see that a bunch! Typical sessions last 1 to 2 hours, depending on what the student needs, and are flexible to fit their schedule. Zoom is preferred as it includes an integrated whiteboard to write on but I also have a Discord channel available.
