About Joshua
I'm a British Mechanical Engineering student at the Technical University of Berlin, where I study entirely in German.
I offer online tuition in GCSE and A-Level Mathematics, Physics and German. As an engineering student, I use mathematics every day and regularly help other students develop their skills in a variety of maths and physics topics.
In addition, I hold a DSH-3 German qualification and participate in German-language debating tournaments. Having learned German from scratch myself, I understand the challenges English speakers face when learning the language and can explain grammar and vocabulary in a clear and structured way.

My goal is to help students move beyond memorisation so that they understand why concepts work and can apply them confidently to challenging exam questions and real-world situations. I adapt my teaching to match each student's goals, learning style and current level.
Typically, we begin by reviewing previous material and addressing any questions or difficulties that have come up since our last session. I then introduce new topics using clear explanations, diagrams and examples to build a strong understanding of the underlying concepts.
Once the theory is understood, we work through practice questions together and discuss exam technique where relevant. My aim is to ensure that students not only know how to solve a problem, but also understand generally why the method works.
I also welcome students interested in studying STEM subjects in Germany and can offer insights into learning and working in a German academic environment.
I offer a free introductory lesson to discuss your goals, assess your current level and ensure that my teaching approach is the right fit for you.
