About Annie
I enjoy tutoring at all ages and levels and experienced the benefit of it myself when sitting my own 11+ entry exams. I am a huge ambassador for women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths as well as women in aviation and the military. I have experience in making lessons enjoyable for younger children aged 8-11 as well as coaching A-level students into their chosen degree. I often found myself thinking differently to others while at school as I am a very visual learner and enjoy out the box solutions which helps me guide people who may not be jelling with conventional methods of teaching as I myself know how frustrating this can be!
In my spare time I love to both play and watch sports, including golf, rugby, swimming and running. I’m often out and about walking my puppy and listening to music.

I have 10 years of tutoring experience from 11+ (Verbal and Non-verbal reasoning and mathematics) all the way up to A-Level Maths and hold a Masters Degree in Engineering.
I am a qualified STEM ambassador having specialised in primary school children working towards secondary school entry and A-Level students looking to choose their degree/ career. I am an ambassador for Women in Engineering and Aviation. I also have volunteer experience working in SEN programmes. During the COVID lockdown I created lessons to encourage young people into mathematics, problem solving and coding with interactive quizzes and classes.
I usually find 1 hour lessons work best either face to face or online but I am flexible to suit you.
I begin lessons by taking the time to discover the student’s level of understand in a given area and answer any questions they may already have. I then look to enhance this understanding by offering varying methods of solving the problem until one sets off the lightbulb! This is then cemented through practise questions with exercises to take away should the student wish. Subsequent lessons will always start with a check of previous understanding so knowledge is never lost.
I am in full time employment and tutor in the afternoons and weekends simply because I love to!
