About Rob
Hi, I'm Rob. I'm a Mechanical Engineering graduate from the University of Bath with extensive in-person tutoring experience. I'm an incoming associate at BCG, keen to help students achieve their academic goals. In the past few years, I've tutored a number of students from 11-18 years old. When studying, I always found tutoring much more effective for applying and understanding material because of the excellent tutors I had. I actively apply the techniques these tutors used to help me achieve my grades throughout my academic life.
I've worked with students aiming for a wide range of goals, and I'm always happy to accommodate individual learning styles and circumstances. My main goal for lessons is always to keep the student engaged, while helping them properly understand concepts rather than just memorising.

I pride myself on creating a relaxed atmosphere to encourage discussion and questions. I find this environment leads to a much better understanding of the course material and also gives my students real confidence in what they are learning. Exam technique is built into my lessons from the very beginning, helping students achieve their target schools and universities. Given the increasing competitiveness of schools and universities nowadays, I aim to provide the more personalised lessons that students need to focus on the specifics that will help them achieve the grades they're capable of.
I tutor Maths and Physics from 11+ to GCSE and A-level, and am familiar with the curriculum of each.

Rob tutored my daughter for A-level Maths in year 12 when she was considering dropping the subject after she wasn't getting on with her teacher's learning style. After a few weeks she gained so much confidence and completely turned round her attitude. She's now sitting her A-levels with Maths being her strongest subject! Rob's done a great job at making the lessons fun and not repetitive, keeping my daughter engaged throughout, I strongly recommend.
Rob tutored me for my physics GCSE, we had sessions twice a week and went over the topics I struggled with, which ended up as my most confident areas. I went from a 6 in my mocks to a 9 in the exam, so I couldn't recommend him more :)
