About Parisa
Hi! I’m Parisa, a Medical Doctor with a strong background in the humanities and social sciences. I’ve always loved reading, reasoning through complex ideas, and breaking down dense material in a way that actually makes sense. That’s what naturally led me to specialize in MCAT CARS tutoring.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and later completed my MD. Throughout my academic training, I spent years analyzing challenging texts, identifying arguments, and thinking critically under time pressure — the same skills that CARS tests.
What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping students go from feeling overwhelmed and unsure to feeling clear and confident. CARS can feel abstract and frustrating, especially when you’re used to succeeding by memorizing content. I focus on helping students develop a structured way of thinking through passages so the section feels more predictable and manageable.
My teaching style is calm, patient, and highly personalized. I meet students where they are, adapt to how they think, and focus on building confidence alongside skill. I genuinely enjoy working with students and supporting them through a very stressful part of the premed journey.
Outside of tutoring, I’m passionate about education, mentorship, and helping students reach their goals in a sustainable way. I take this work seriously and care deeply about the progress and experience of every student I work with.

CARS is the most frustrating section of the MCAT because it doesn’t feel learnable, there’s no content to memorize, passages feel unpredictable, and many students feel like they’re just guessing. My goal is to change that.
I’m a Medical Doctor with a strong humanities and social science background, and I specialize exclusively in MCAT CARS. I teach students a clear, repeatable reasoning system they can apply to any passage, regardless of topic. Instead of vague advice like “read carefully” or “go with your gut,” I show you exactly how to break down passages, identify what actually matters, and eliminate wrong answers with confidence.
In our sessions, we focus on:
• Understanding passage structure and the author’s main argument
• Identifying tone, bias, and purpose without over-analyzing
• Recognizing common CARS wrong-answer traps
• Improving timing without rushing or panicking
• Building trust in your reasoning so you stop second guessing
My lessons are highly interactive and tailored to you. We work through real CARS passages together, analyze your specific error patterns, and refine a strategy that fits how you think. Many students tell me that within just a few sessions, CARS starts to feel more predictable and far less intimidating.
I’m especially effective with students who:
• Feel lost or overwhelmed when reading passages
• Struggle with timing or overthinking answer choices
• Have plateaued despite lots of practice
• “Hate CARS” or feel like it’s their weakest section
