About Sam
Originally an art student, progressing onto Geological sciences at degree level at the university of Leeds in 2008. I did not enjoy the subject and decided to work in geotechnical engineering laboratory for 7 years. Then moving onto working in a cosmetics lab for 2 years before returning to university to study medical sciences in my Biomedicine BSc.
Currently on my full time placement year working at Leeds Institute of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Medicine, specialising in type 2 diabetes and atherosclerosis. Also a member of the Society for Endocrinology and the Royal Society of Biology.

I find with teaching anything practical or science based the student learns best if I give them a brief summary of a subject to read or listen to before showing them how something works, then guiding them through the process themself.
This encourages my students to ask for help and allows them to think through the problem and try and solve it themself rather than having the answer given to them. Suggesting improvements to their reasoning to allow them to see the solution through their own thought process.
