About Aadil
I have been tutoring both maths and languages for 9 years alongside working on various projects and start-ups, including a free legal advice clinic and a creative agency. I also received a distinction in my MA Law online. I graduated from UCL with first class honours in Mathematics with Modern Languages, studying French, German and Arabic alongside my Maths modules in 2019. Tutoring, especially in my subjects, is something I have grown to enjoy over the years. I consider it a life challenge to become fluent in as many languages as I can and I hope to one day return to university to earn my PhD in Mathematics, after which I will likely also become a university lecturer.

Mathematics: Teaching Mathematics is funnily enough very similar to teaching a language, for which I will lay down my approach below. Once a student has grasped and retained understanding of a particular method, simply put, practice makes perfect. Putting this fundamental approach aside, what I then concentrate on is problem solving. This is an area in which I am very experienced, having taken the infamous STEP Cambridge exams, scored highly in several Maths Challenge papers and having practised various problem solving approaches at university. A confident problem solver will be able to access the highest tier of marks in exams and so this is an ability I feel strongly about instilling in my students. Personally I want all my students regardless of their natural ability to be able to access all the marks in the paper and have a good chance of earning each and every one. Languages: I start with grammatical and vocabulary fundamentals. Ensuring solid understanding and knowledge of these respectively will pave the path for fluency in both reading and writing. There is always a particular approach to the order in which grammar is learnt in each language, so I make sure to follow this approach to ensure retention and confidence in application of grammatical concepts.
