About Ali
Hi everyone!
My name is Ali and I'm hoping to become a mathematician. I'm enthusiastic about learning and teaching and I've taught myself GCSE Maths, A level Maths and A level Further Maths (alongside other things).
I took GCSE Maths early and achieved a 9, A level Maths 2 years early and achieved an A* and sat A level Further Maths a year early and achieved A*.
I've spent a long time preparing resources and compiling stuff for Maths from primary school level to A2 FM. I've taught students before (AS Maths students) and we've covered quite a big chunk of the course quite quickly, with a very good amount of practice, which helped in the final exams. I have also taught top set year 11 students the entirety of the FM GCSE Course (L2 AQA) ~2 months before the exam and they got A* and A*^!
I achieved 9A*, 1A at GCSE (6 x Grade 9, 2 x legacy A*, 1 x Grade 8, 1 x Grade 7) and passed HSK Mandarin level 1. I also took A level Chem/Physics and achieved the following in super-curricular exams:
- Golds in UKMT Maths Challenges (Intermediate + Senior x3)
- Gold in British Physics Olympiad AS Challenge
- Gold in Cambridge Chemistry Challenge (C3L6)

I offer a free hour and try my best to ft the requirements of the student. I prefer online tuition but can travel (~ 2 miles from my house).
The way I tutor:
- teach the concepts to the student
- go over examples w/the student
- give exercises and go through them with students
- give homework (of varying levels of difficulty) to complete (practice makes perfect!)
- go over the homework before each new session (to ensure the student masters the concepts)
I can also produce some notes and refer to videos to watch after each session. I would really like to help students excel in their Maths exams.
