About Robert
I am a part-time Maths tutor at a school in Wrexham tutoring GCSE Maths (Foundation and Higher Level), Key Stage 3 Maths and A-Level Maths. I also tutor adults in Functional Skills Maths Levels 1 and 2 as a self-employed tutor, and I am a volunteer GCSE Maths tutor on the National Tutoring Programme. I have experience tutoring learners with autism, ADHD and trauma and victimisation. I have a BSc in Mathematics and an MSc in Computing. My teaching qualifications are a 7307 Further and Adult Education Teacher’s Certificate and a Learndirect Online Learning Mentoring Module 16 Certificate.

I take a positive and encouraging tutoring approach to help learners build up their confidence. I adapt my approach to the needs of the student but a typical lesson would be first going through any work the student is currently doing and needs help on and then continuing with a structured course. The focus will shift to working through past papers coming up to examinations.

I haven’t found maths an easy subject, however since I have had Robert as a tutor have found I am finding the subject much more accessible. Robert gives clear, easy to understand instructions, has supported and guided me throughout as I have prepared for forthcoming exams. Very professional and extremely supportive.
