About Nat
I have nine years' experience tutoring Maths and Physics. In recent years, I have worked with students face to face, in classrooms and internationally, either through regular weekly lessons or more intensive ‘crash course’ style exam preparation over the school holidays. I have worked with students from KS2 up to A level, and with students aiming to secure passes on resits through to aiming to enter top institutions. I also have extensive experience supporting students with the 11 plus, 13 plus, and entrance exams to a number of the country’s most prestigious independent schools.
I combine this proven track record helping students achieve their academic targets with a focus on building a supportive space where students can express their learning needs freely, and tailored and responsive content that builds on their classroom progress, and progress from lesson to lesson. I aim to challenge students without exhausting them; celebrating their achievements whilst pushing gently forward to new material.
I hold a degree in Mathematics from the University of Warwick. I have four years' experience working as a teaching assistant, and have an up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate.

My lessons centre continuous practice, open dialogue with students around their relationship to the material, and favour building intuitions and cross-applicable problem-solving techniques over rote learning algorithms. I have successfully tutored students through KS2 to A level, across a range of abilities and comfort levels, from those applying for oxbridge to GCSE retakers who struggle to engage in what can understandably be an off-putting subject.
I believe strongly in allowing students input and communication in how they want to be taught, and tailoring lessons accordingly. Lessons are guided through a mixture of students’ self-identified needs, identification of weak spots through continuous assessment, and my detailed knowledge of the major exam boards and their common sticking points.
My lessons focus on breaking down examples into manageable steps and concepts, connecting them to existing intuitions and real-world situations, and moving from worked examples to hands-on practice. I draw on resources and practice questions collated from years of experiance to make sure each student is challenged to the degree they need to achieve, and often, exceed their target grades.
