About Matthieu
Hi! I will be starting an MSc in Applied Mathematics at Imperial College London and I have a First Class BA in Mathematics and Philosophy from King's College London.
I have four years of experience tutoring in mathematics (and other subjects) with kids ages 12 to 17, including with a student with motor disabilities.
I also have nine years of experience as a scout and scout leader. As a scout (less than 18) I was responsible for 7 younger children. As a scout leader (more than 18), I was responsible of a troop of 30 children. Ages ranged from 11 to 18. I also have experience as a babysitter with younger children (ages ranged 8 through 12).
I love teaching and interacting with children.
I speak English and French fluently.

I am able to provide quality tutoring up to and including university level. I believe that mathematics must be understood first through its basic concepts and cannot be mastered by simply learning to solve standard exercices. As such I teach mathematics from the ground up: first I teach the foundational concepts through definitions, explanations and examples, second I help student master these concepts through exercises.
I always strive to break down the most complicated concepts into intuitive and clear notions. I often illustrate my explanations with real world examples or through other mathematical notions the student already knows.
