About Benvolio
Hi everyone, I'm Nkamogeleng Benvolio Sepeng, your new math tutor here in Johannesburg. Before we jump into any equations or graphs, I want to tell you a bit about who I am and — more importantly — why I actually love math (yes, love it, not just 'it's okay'). I'm not some super-genius who was born solving calculus in nappies. I grew up right here in Gauteng, went through the same CAPS system you’re in, and honestly? There were times I found math confusing, frustrating, or just plain boring when it felt like endless rules with no point. But somewhere along the way, something clicked for me — and now I can't imagine not sharing that 'click' with students like you. So why do I love math so much? It’s like the ultimate puzzle game — and you always level up Every problem is a challenge that makes your brain stronger. When you crack it (even after a few wrong tries), that feeling? It's better than winning a game on your phone or nailing a tricky level. I live for those 'Aha!' moments when a student suddenly goes, 'Wait... it actually makes sense now!' Watching that happen is the best part of my day. Math is everywhere in real life — and it's secretly cool It's not just school stuff. It's in the angles of your favorite soccer free kick, how algorithms decide what TikTok video pops up next, how much change you get at the spaza, or why your phone battery lasts longer sometimes. Once you see math as the hidden code behind the world (not just homework), it stops feeling pointless and starts feeling powerful. It teaches you how to think clearly when everything else is messy Life can be chaotic — loadshedding, drama, exams stress — but math gives you logic, step-by-step reasoning, and proof that things can make sense if you break them down. I love that it builds confidence: solve one tough problem, and suddenly you believe you can handle harder ones (and real-life stuff too). I love seeing you grow I've tutored enough students now to know: almost everyone starts thinking 'I'm bad at math' or 'I'll never get this'. But with the right explanations, patience, and a bit of fun (yes, we do games, visuals, and quick wins), they go from dreading it to owning it.
