About Fernando
I strongly believe that an inspiring teacher is crucial to succeeding in any subject, especially in maths and physics. During my A Levels, my maths and physics teachers were so passionate about their fields that they sparked a genuine curiosity and excitement in me, something I hadn't anticipated. Whether you're aiming for the highest grades or just trying to understand your homework and pass your exams, I’m here to help you improve not only as a mathematician or physicist but also to enjoy learning these subjects more than ever before. What sets my tutoring apart? I have experience working with students of different ages and academic levels. My sessions are informal yet productive, focusing on conversation and engagement rather than just lecture-style teaching. We’ll discuss problems, work through solutions, and if needed, I'll explain concepts multiple times without judgement. My goal is to support your understanding, not make you feel bad for struggling. I have a solid grasp of the subjects I teach, having completed A Levels in maths, further maths, and physics. Now, as a mathematics student at the London School of Economics (LSE), I can confidently teach you the content you need while offering helpful exam strategies along the way.

I tailor my teaching to be as flexible as possible. Some students prefer working through exam questions together, others like to ask a lot of questions, and some prefer me to explain concepts while they take notes. Others enjoy tackling problems independently with my guidance when needed, and many prefer a mix of everything. The truth is, everyone learns differently, and it's my job to adapt to your unique learning style. At the start of each lesson, I’ll ask what you'd like to focus on. If you’re unsure or want my input, I’ll suggest a topic based on what I think will benefit you most. We’ll also plan out a rough schedule to ensure we cover everything you need for any upcoming exams or mocks, so you feel fully prepared. I make sure each lesson is maximised for your learning. We’ll use the time to go over topics in depth, practise exam questions, and solidify your understanding. My approach ensures you’re well-prepared for every step of your academic journey. My lessons are never just lectures. You’re free to stop me at any time, ask for clarification, or get help with questions—it’s all about making sure you fully understand the material.
