About Anna
Hello, I’m Anna, a maths and physics tutor with a great love for these subjects and a passion for sharing that love with students. I have A levels in maths, further maths and physics and hope to study physics at university this year. I prioritise understanding of ideas and practice of skills, to build confidence and capability in students.

As a tutor, I use the following methods to build and ensure students’ confidence:
- Structure: I make sure to give an understanding of how a single topic fits into the curriculum and the subject as a whole. This was important to me as a student and it is important to me to be able to provide it as a teacher.
- Explanation: I explain concepts in depth, NOT just by teaching an arbitrary set of rules - I provide a genuine understanding of a topic, which will give a student so much more confidence when they encounter it in class, in homework, or on a test.
- Practice: I provide practice questions for every lesson, to give students the chance to practise their skills, catch and understand mistakes.
Lessons are 1 hour, and I can provide homework exercises if desired.
As a tutor, I am:

- Totally happy to answer however many questions a student has
- Totally happy to reframe and explain a topic in a different way and adapt to different students’ ways of learning I understand that the real prize in education is true understanding, and that the ability to answer even the hardest questions on a test will grow from this, with practice.
