About Kyle
Hi I'm Kyle! Since a young age, I've had a passion for showing other students how maths can be rewarding even if it seems impossible at first glance. In my sessions, my aim is to keep my passion alive by helping you through my kind and thoughtful approach to learning and giving you a reliable place to ask for help. As a student at a specialist maths school, I regularly explain concepts to my peers and I'm well versed in tackling challenging maths problems. Currently, I'm predicted an A* in both Maths and Further Maths A-Levels and I've achieved 9s in Maths and Further Maths GCSE. My aim in tutoring is to help students gain confidence in maths so that they can smash their exams. My approach begins with understanding which topic the student is requiring help in, and talking to them to gauge what level they are at. This gives me an indication of where I should start my explanation and what areas of focus I need to concentrate on. Throughout the session, I'll be constantly making sure the student understands what they're being taught by asking questions and giving them opportunities to demonstrate knowledge. Once the student has built a solid grasp of the concepts being taught, I'll guide them through some past exam questions, these may include more unusual questions which require problem solving, but will really challenge the student and build strong competency in the topic. Moreover, having been through GCSEs and achieving the top grades in Maths, I'll be sharing my own exam tips, such as presentation and timing, to give the student confidence that they will get the top marks. If I think it's useful, I'll set the students some extra questions to complete after the session, to further build their fluency. A typical session will last an hour and I can tutor all levels up to GCSE. While I have no professional experience as a tutor, my enrolment in the specialist maths school puts me in good stead to explain topics in a clear way. My kind and patient approach will create a stress-free and enjoyable environment for the student to truly thrive. I'm very excited to help!
