About Funmi
Hi, my name's Funmi and I'm a degree apprentice currently in my second year of Uni. I'm interested in teaching Biology and maths (up to year 11) and 11+ related content (non-verbal, Verbal, Maths and English). AFro GCSEs I achieved 11 (As-A*s) and at A level, I achieved AAA.
I have 4 years of experience tutoring- I've formally tutored while employed as a classroom assistant. Working in institutions like Kumon or exam success centres. Additionally, I've been an online tutor for 2 years. I also tutored my brother through his 11+ where he passed all 3 tests well.
(I typically prefer to work with students KS3 and below, including SATs and 11+ revision, but I'm also able to help with GCSE preparation.)
When working with different students it becomes clear that you must approach each differently. As a baseline though, I always try to simplify any concepts of questions. This allows the knowledge to be acquired in a simpler context and then applied to a more complex situation, I've found that this works very well for maths.

I tend to teach maths and biology, but I'm also available to teach chemistry as well. All at GCSE level and below. I welcome students of any ability, so we can learn and improve together :) I like to simplify all concepts and ideas before diving into their full complexity. This is because when a student grasps the basics and builds a steady foundation. It's easy to build upon. Alongside learning, I like to use questions to reaffirm what's been taught. Questions will always show exactly what we understood from what we just learnt, and any holes discovered can be easily patched up :) . (My lessons would be held in Sittingbourne, Kent. Or online through google classroom.)
