About James
Third year student at Trinity, 625 points (2024) H1 maths. I went from grades as low as 12% in Christmas of 6th year to 96% in paper 1 by the summer. I understand the areas where students tend to struggle as I have struggled myself. I believe that strong foundations in maths are vastly more important than rote memorisation and I aim to teach via visualisations, examples, applications over pure conceptual maths.

Focus on understanding over rote memorisation through consistent work so that you will not stress over LC maths and be equipped to handle future college maths. I will reinforce strong mathematical foundations so that no matter what question appears on the exam you will be able to approach and solve it. I will work closely with you, the student, to create a personalised and focused learning plan and a timeline of learning up until the exams, aiming to reduce as much stress or anxiety over maths so that you can focus on other subjects. I will maximise your confidence in maths, realising that all students have the ability to excel. I will guide you through example problems which will teach you the exact problem solving techniques you will apply in the exam. I am the right tutor for you if you plan on taking any mathematics courses in third level education (not just STEM degrees but also business related degrees have these courses) as you will learn how to study maths and have a solid foundation to build on your leaving cert knowledge.
