Hi! I'm James, a second year undergraduate student in Mathematics at the University of Oxford. I'm really looking forward to helping your mathematical abilities grow and flourish. I've got lots of experience communicating maths, and I firmly believe that the best way forward is through open communication and taking as much time as you need.

I'm a big believer in getting to know my students and their strengths and weaknesses so that I can best support and address them. I normally do lessons for an hour, but I am happy to change this to suit your needs. I have experience tutoring four GCSE maths pupils during my A levels, and the three year 11s all achieved grades higher than they were predicted. Now that I am studying Mathematics at The University of Oxford I am keen to tutor A level Maths and Further Maths, and provide MAT guidance.

James worked with my daughter for a year in the run up to GCSE maths. She had very low confidence and had always struggled with the subject. James was patient and supportive. He had a clear game plan to cover the content and make sure she had experience to tackle different questions. With his help she achieved a solid grade 5 and we were all delighted. I recommended him to friends who were also pleased.
