About Oskar
Methodology My approach focuses on active learning and genuine understanding. Instead of just providing explanations, I work with you on assignments so that you build insight yourself. I use principles from cognitive psychology, such as active retrieval (trying things yourself before receiving help), repetition, and breaking down complex problems into smaller steps. This helps the material stick better and allows you to apply it to new questions. I pay close attention to how you think and where things go wrong. Based on this, I adjust my explanations so that it makes sense from your perspective. The goal is for you not to remain dependent on help, but to become increasingly independent. Typical lesson structure A lesson is flexible, but usually follows this structure: We start with a brief inventory of what you find difficult or what you struggled with in your homework. Then we work together on assignments that align with this. While working, I ask questions and guide your thinking so that you remain actively involved. If something is unclear, I explain it calmly and step by step. Subsequently, you apply it immediately to new exercises so that you truly master it. At the end of the lesson, we briefly review what you have learned and what you might need to practice further. ⸻ Practical information I provide both online and in-person tutoring. My lessons are fully tailored to your pace and level, whether you are struggling with the basics or simply want to achieve higher grades.

My lessons are fully tailored to the student's needs. I provide both online and in-person tutoring and work flexibly, yet with a clear focus: working on assignments together and truly understanding what you are doing. Thanks to my tutoring experience, I know exactly where students get stuck and how to solve that. During the lesson, we work actively: we take out your assignments and use them as a basis to clarify the theory. I don't just explain what you need to do, but especially why. As a result, you start recognizing patterns and can solve new problems independently, instead of just memorizing tricks. Additionally, I pay a lot of attention to learning how to learn. I use principles from cognitive psychology, such as repetition, active retrieval practice, and breaking down complex problems into smaller steps. That might sound technical, but in practice, it means you learn faster and are less likely to forget things. What motivates me to tutor is my passion for mathematics and the fact that many students experience unnecessary stress because of it. In my experience, this is rarely due to a lack of talent, but almost always to unclear explanations or a pace that doesn't suit them. That is why I fully adapt my lessons to your pace and way of thinking, so that you get a better grasp of the material and work with more confidence. My goal is for you to truly understand mathematics, become more independent, and achieve better results, without the stress that often comes with it.

Via via kreeg ik het mooie foldertje van Oskar onder ogen waarin Oskar zijn les aanbiedt. Ik zocht iemand die mijn zoon bijles kon geven voor wiskunde. Een afspraak was heel snel gemaakt en mijn zoon begrijpt door de bijles de wiskundestof nu veel beter. Oskar neemt de tijd voor uitleg en geeft denktijd aan mijn zoon om tot zijn antwoorden te komen. Dat is heel belangrijk aangezien er licht ASS speelt. Kortom, heel blij met de dienstverlening.
Ken Oskar van de sportschool, een fijne, rustige, nette jongen. Ik heb zelf een zoon die op havo/vwo zit en heb Oskar voor wiskunde-bijles ingeschakeld, omdat het gewoon beter is als iemand die niet dichtbij staat helpt bij het uitleggen/leren van moeilijke stof, omdat ze tijdens de les gewoon weinig tijd krijgen. Mijn zoon heeft het als zeer fijn ervaren en Oskar neemt de tijd om alles rustig uit te leggen.
Ik ken Oskar door zijn bijles. Hij heeft mij een keer geholpen met mijn wiskundetoets. Hij helpt je met heel veel geduld. Hij is super slim, dus hij ziet het meteen als je een fout maakt en helpt je daar heel fijn bij. Oskar heeft mij geholpen met een wiskundetoets waarvan ik eerst zeker wist dat ik de toets niet zou halen, maar in één week heeft hij mij geholpen naar een 9.
Oskar geeft bijles Wis A aan mijn dochter en zij heeft er veel baat bij. Oskar is rustig en geeft duidelijk uitleg. Heel fijn dat we van zijn diensten gebruik kunnen maken ter voorbereiding op toetsweek!
Oskar helpt mij enorm met me wiskunde vaak naar een uur begrijp ik het hele hele hoofdstuk. Hij zegt niks voor laat je het zelf maken dat werkt goed. Oskar kan enorm goed kinderwijs uitleggen waardoor je het snel snapt wat enorm Fijn is.
