About Amanda
Hey there! My name is Amanda and I am a Math tutor with over 15 years of experience. I tutor math because I love teaching one-on-one with students; getting to know how you think individually so I can cater my lessons to you and your interests. I have had much success tutoring students to the point that they went from meeting with me twice a week to only needing to call on me to review for final exams. Let's work together to get you to enjoy math as much as I do! (Or at least until you understand it enough to feel confident in your skills.)

I mainly tutor math for grades 7-12. I am a tutor whose goal is to work with how your student learns. If they are a visual learner, I give them the tools to color code their math for easier understanding. If they don't understand how their teacher taught them the lesson, I explain it in different ways until they understand. My typical lesson is a student-led approach where with each topic I ask them what they remember or understand about the topic and then we move through the lesson from there. What sets me apart is my goal is for your student to not need me anymore.
