About Therick John
Hello, and welcome! I’m a dedicated Mathematics Tutor with experience teaching students from elementary through senior high school, both in person and online. I specialize in Algebra, Trigonometry, and Geometry, and I work one-on-one with Grade 6-12 students to make challenging concepts clear and manageable.
I believe every student can succeed in math with the right guidance. My lessons are tailored to each learner’s level and needs, and I explain every topic step by step until it truly makes sense. I also provide practice exercises, quizzes, and constructive feedback so students can see their progress and build real confidence. Whether you need help with homework, want to strengthen a weak area, or are preparing for an exam, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
I look forward to helping you reach your goals!

Teaching method and techniques
I teach one-on-one online and adapt each explanation to the student’s level and learning needs. I break concepts like PEMDAS, equations, inequalities, functions, and trigonometric identities into clear steps, then connect them to real-world problems so they make sense beyond the textbook. I use practice exercises, short quizzes, and learning activities to reinforce each lesson and check understanding, and I give constructive feedback to pinpoint exactly where a student is struggling.
A typical lesson plan
Check-in and review: Go over homework or questions from the previous session.
Concept explanation: Introduce or clarify the topic step by step, with worked examples.
Guided practice: Solve problems together, gradually letting the student take the lead.
Independent practice or quiz: Short exercises to assess understanding.
Feedback and wrap-up: Review mistakes, clarify difficult areas, and set practice for next time.
Before exams, sessions shift to targeted review, practice problems, and reinforcement of key concepts.
What sets me apart
I combine strong subject knowledge in Algebra, Trigonometry, and Geometry with a patient, student-centered approach. I focus on building problem-solving skills, not just getting the homework done, so students gain lasting confidence and can tackle unfamiliar problems on their own.
Who the lessons are for
My lessons are for Grade 6-12 students who need help with homework, want to strengthen weak areas in math, or are preparing for exams. Topics include Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Graphing, and Mathematical Problem Solving. I work with students at different academic levels, from those who need foundational support to those tackling challenging problems.
