About Kitt
Math can be difficult, and sometimes, "you don't know what you don't know," and that's OK. Sometimes, when your foundation is shaky, you often need to start from the ground up, yet I also understand how difficult and embarrassing it can be. Rest assured, you will get no judgement from me, as long as you're still willing to learn stuff after.
One thing I often require from my students is an email. I tutor with a Google Document prepared and share that through my screen, along with illustrations that go with the lesson. Once the lesson is over, I send this "worksheet" to that email, so that my students have notes that they can use for their own studies, so they don't have to take as many notes while I tutor.

The difficult thing with mathematics and other sciences that rely heavily on it is that a lot of students can't get beyond the numbers and formulas that are written on the blackboard. In my tutoring experience, students come up to me with the formulas from their teacher and are often expected to memorize those formulas.
What I provide is a space where we (the student and I) can discuss these formulas as concepts, extending them from being mere equations into potential applications in real life. Math is not about numbers, but about patterns, and it is only with careful instruction and guidance that students are also able to see these patterns.
Most teachers and some tutors often shortcuts or workarounds when the math gets too difficult, and in a rigid education system, it's not hard to see why. But if you wish to develop a mathematical foundation, then a thorough understanding is required, and so I hope to be able to provide this space for you.
I mainly tutor students who are in middle and high school (and in English and Filipino), but I am also open to teaching college freshmen who find the acceleration in the level of math intimidating.
