About Mary
I have just completed my masters degree, so I have not tutored recently but I was involved with a maths summer school at Lancaster university as well as other outreach events. Whilst studying for my alevels I also tutored a student in year 9.
Explaining mathematics in different ways has been a large part of my mathematics journey, and I look forward to helping others achieve a higher understanding of the subject.

I think its important for learning to be fun, and I do not want my tutoring to feel like another school lesson. It is important to interact with the student and tailor the learning style to suit their individual needs. Exercises are an important way to establish which areas a student struggles with, and can also be helpful to see when a student has grasped the concepts.
