I have a unique blend of lecture and discussion method. I start with what the child is familiar with and relating it to real life events and then before I move to what the child is not familiar with.
I am a fan of active learning where the child is made to be responsible for what he learns: in this way he can not forget what he learnt by himself, though the teacher's acts as a facilitator. That's when learning becomes the learners' centered.
