About Joshua
I am a passionate mathematician with an undergraduate degree in mathematics and currently pursuing my master’s in Germany. Alongside my studies, I trained as a secondary mathematics teacher and earned my teaching qualification, which gave me both the skills and experience to support learners at different levels. My approach is built on the principle that practice makes improvement: students make the most progress when they actively engage with problems. I guide them in developing problem-solving strategies, understanding the skills behind each question, and recognising the connections across mathematics. My goal is to spark curiosity, build confidence, and help every student grow into an independent thinker.

My tutoring approach is built on the principle that practice makes improvement. In mathematics, real progress comes from actively working through problems, so my lessons focus on giving students the tools and strategies to do the hard thinking themselves. I guide, question, and offer alternative approaches, but it’s the student’s practice that drives their growth. Lessons typically run for about 60 minutes, balancing explanation with plenty of problem-solving. Currently studying a master's in Mathematics, with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, and a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics, I work with GCSE and A Level maths and further maths students, helping them strengthen their skills, build confidence, and become independent problem-solvers.
