About Aaran
Cardiff University Mathematics Graduate specialising in A-level, GCSE and KS3 Mathematics. I tutor Mathematics in my spare time whilst studying for a Master’s degree. I have over 5 years experience tutoring Mathematics. My availability is weekends and weekday evenings.
I have a patient and calm approach to teaching and focus on explaining mathematical concepts in an understandable manner, prompting students to try themselves instead of providing immediate solutions.
As someone who did the exams myself a few years ago, I have a strong grasp of methods required to learn, exam technique and how best to lay out your work for the examiner. I believe all of my students should aim for the highest grade possible. I will aim to identify and improve on the students weaknesses before applying the finishing touches closer to the time of the exam.
Although I do provide paper materials, I do expect students to have their own school textbooks. Some material may be sent electronically.
Maths is a scary subject for many people who cringe at the thought of it. However, with understanding and practice it can open up a range of abilities we didn't even know we had! From studying Mathematics my whole life, I understand the importance a good mentor can play in learning. I enjoy tutoring as I am inspired by helping and motivating the students I teach.
