About Laura
Hello! I'm Laura, and I am currently a bachelor of education student, and have a degree in bachelor of science in mathematics.
I understand how frustrating school can be, I have been your shoes of struggling to understand no matter what you do. I want to help alleviate some of that frustration with individualized tutoring. Through my years of studying mathematics, I have collected lots of resources which I can share with you, along with different tips and tricks that I have learned over the years.
Math is difficult, but with the proper tools and support you can be successful and gain an understanding that can help you in many areas of your life.

My personal approach to tutoring is individualized to each student, depending on what their needs are. Overall I prefer to walk through exercises and problems with the students, while allowing them to take more of the problem on each time until they feel as though they can do it independently. I can do this in many ways, depending on how the student learns the best, but one example is by drawing pictures, graphs, or general visual aids to help students comprehend. I also believe it is beneficial to continuously review a student's plan to ensure it is the best plan for the student and that they get the most out of the tutoring.
I am able to tutor for all high school math classes, including grade 12 university level calculus, functions and data management. I can also tutor for university and college level math classes including statistics, calculus, algebra, and many others.
I believe that every student learns on their own timeline, in their own way, and that every student can be successful with the proper resources, support and time. Keeping this in mind, I can not only help them when in the sessions, but I can give them additional resources and tips to help them when they are expected to work independently.
