About Raffi
Teach Maths & Economics to students aged 10-20.
Teaching and tutoring experience:
Raffi has previously worked as a high-end tutor for Pegasus Tutors (an Oxford based private tutoring company). He teaches students aged 10 and up for school entrance exams, GCSEs, A-Levels and more. Raffi has always had very positive feedback during his experiences and his students especially experienced higher scores within their Maths modules in school.
Raffi truly believes in the importance of adaptability, energy, and openness during tutoring and as a result, this forms his style of tutoring. With individual tutoring, you must adapt yourself to every case. Since there is no predetermined formula, your approach must depend on the student’s need and the particular difficulties he or she experiences. Throughout the lessons, Raffi tries to re-evaluate the student’s objectives as they progress. Therefore he is not afraid of creating a new action plan that will be better adapted to each new situation.
In order to establish a good relationship, Raffi believes you have to be an energetic person, someone with a lot of enthusiasm with respect to human interactions. Through his positive attitude and motivation, he aims to be a model for success, inciting the student to apply him or herself more and do better.
Raffi also believes in listening to the needs of the tutee and demonstrating openness. Inquiring about the context (academic situation, the environment at school, etc.) allows the adoption of a more appropriate follow-up and the better use of work methods. His involvement and presence offers support for a student in worry and aims to make the student feel valued. Furthermore, his openness demonstrates accessibility and involvement. Finally, Raffi works to be highly curious and interested in truly helping his students in each and every lesson and believes this resonates with the tutees.
