About Amelie
I am a positive and encouraging tutor with a Subject Knowledge Enhancement course in Mathematics and first class degree in Biochemistry. I have a friendly approach to teaching and accommodate to each tutee's individual needs. I have been a tutor of Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics for the last ten years and am dedicated to improving subject knowledge and meeting their targets. I now specialise in tutoring 11plus, KS2, KS3, KS4 (GCSE), KS5 (Alevel) and SATs, having had extensive experience in each. I am always up to date with the latest curriculum and ensure that my lessons focus on the areas needed for improvement. I start by focusing on areas that students have difficulty with, making sure that students have a good understanding of the basic concepts, until progressing onto more complex areas. I have found that in doing so, this allows students to gain a much greater understanding and builds their confidence in the process. As the latest curriculum is heavily focused on problem solving, I find that it is imperative to provide students with techniques that will aid in letting them apply their knowledge to any type of question that can be asked. Amelie makes the lessons really engaging and my daughter is really enjoying them. When it came to the 11 plus examinations my daughter was extremely prepared and I was so happy with her achievements.
I have had the pleasure of knowing Amelie for over three years. She has helped my son with his maths over the years and has immensely improved his confidence and attitude towards his approach to Maths. His school grades improved dramatically with her help. Amelie focused on areas that my son was having difficulty with, especially problem solving worded questions that come up a lot in the new GCSE. Would recommend to anyone who needs help with Maths.
