About Cameron
I am a Mathematical Physics PhD graduate with a strong academic background spanning both advanced mathematics and theoretical physics. My work has involved tackling complex problems across a wide range of topics, from abstract mathematical structures to their application in understanding physical systems—experience that has trained me to think clearly, explain rigorously and communicate difficult ideas in an accessible way.
What I bring to tutoring is not just subject knowledge but clarity and precision. I understand how challenging maths and physics can feel when concepts are introduced too quickly or without proper intuition. I focus on presenting material in a structured way that builds confidence step by step, ensuring students feel in control of what they’re learning rather than overwhelmed by it.

I believe that if a student struggles then it's not because they "aren’t good at maths or physics," but because the way the material is presented doesn't yet click. My goal is to bridge that gap—moving from confusion to confidence.
My approach is intuition-first. Before diving into formalism or proofs, I want you to understand what's actually going on—why a concept exists, what problem it's solving and how it connects to things you already know. The rigour comes naturally once the picture is clear. I find this especially important in maths and physics, where it's easy to get lost in the machinery and lose sight of the underlying ideas.
Typical lessons are 60-90 minutes, depending on level and goals. A standard session includes: reviewing key concepts and identifying sticking points, consolidating understanding with targeted exercises and guidance on problem sheets, coursework or revision strategy.
I hold a PhD in Mathematical Physics, with published research spanning multiple areas of advanced mathematics and theoretical physics. While I am newer to formal tutoring, I have extensive experience explaining complex ideas clearly through presentations, collaboration and academic discussions—skills I bring directly into my teaching.
I teach Maths and Physics at all levels, i.e. from GCSE & A-level (calculus, vectors and matrices, complex numbers, mechanics) to degree-level (Linear Algebra, Analysis, Geometry, Classical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Waves & Optics, Fluid Mechanics).
