About Jaideep

I hold a degree in Computer Science and have two decades of expertise within the 3D Animation, Visual Effects, and Gaming Industry. My career has encompassed impactful contributions to movies such as "How to Train Your Dragon 2", "Penguins of Madagascar" and "Trolls" to name a few. Presently, I am employed by a company at the forefront of developing a Game Engine, a pivotal tool for crafting numerous online and offline games.

Mathematics has been the cornerstone of my career. It has been instrumental in solving complex problems related to graphics rendering, physics simulations, and character animation. Whether it's optimizing rendering pipelines, creating realistic physics simulations, or fine-tuning character movements, a strong mathematical foundation has enabled me to innovate and excel in my field. In this dynamic industry, mathematics has not just been a tool but a key driver of creativity and technical excellence, allowing me to bring captivating worlds and characters to life on the screen.

I truly believe that understanding fundamentals is super important when it comes to math. I make learning these basics fun and engaging by using relatable everyday examples. I encourage my students to ask questions during our lessons – it's like having a friendly chat.

You can ask/discuss any mathematics-related questions that you have in mind. Whether you are preparing for a competitive exam, want to brush up on a concept from last year, or need maths homework help.

For the past 3 years, I have been teaching math to students from Grade 5 to Grade 12. I enjoy teaching subjects like arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and pre-calculus.

  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

My fascination with mathematics was a constant companion throughout my school and college years. While I was proficient in the subject, it wasn't until my final year of college that I truly discovered my passion for it. This was when I was introduced to the world of 3D animation and visual effects.

At first glance, 3D animation may seem purely creative, but it's actually deeply rooted in mathematical principles. Understanding functions, linear algebra, and calculus can significantly enhance one's ability to create stunning visual effects. As I delved deeper into this field, I found myself engrossed in learning about the mathematical foundations of 3D animation.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

One of the most common misconceptions is that the mathematics we learn in school lacks practical application in our daily lives. However, in my field, I find myself using mathematical principles every day to breathe life into my creations. Whether it's animating a character, crafting a realistic tornado effect, or developing an engaging game, mathematics is the invisible force that makes it all possible.

This tangible, real-world application of mathematical concepts is what fuels my passion for the subject. It's incredibly rewarding to see abstract theories and equations come to life on the screen, and this experience continually motivates me to delve deeper into the various facets of mathematics. It's this passion, born out of practical application, that I aim to share with my students, showing them that mathematics is not just a subject, but a tool for creation and innovation.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

My love for 3D animation and visual effects led me to explore the math behind it. At first, some math concepts were tough. But this pushed me to find a way to make them easier to understand. I started breaking down big ideas into smaller parts. This helped me learn, and now I use this method to teach my students.

I enjoy showing students how math is used in cool areas like 3D animation and visual effects. I believe this unique way of teaching sets me apart from others.

What makes me a "Superprof" is my ability to make math real for my students. I use my experience and love for math to make learning fun and relevant. I believe this helps students understand better and makes them excited to learn more. This mix of real-world use, personalized teaching, and a love for the subject is what I think makes me a "Superprof".
  • Do you have any role models; or a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

In the vast online world, knowledge can be gathered from countless sources and individuals. However, a few stand out for me.

Grant Sanderson, the creator of the YouTube channel 3Blue1Brown, is one such individual. His insightful math videos have been a great source of inspiration.

Gilbert Strang, a legendary teacher from MIT, is another. His ability to simplify complex concepts in linear algebra and calculus is truly remarkable.

Finally, Eddie Woo, an Australian school teacher, is well-known for his engaging approach to teaching K-12 math. His popularity is a testament to his effective teaching methods.

These educators have not only inspired me to teach mathematics but also shown me that math lessons don't have to be dry and purely informative. They can be fun, engaging, and amusing. This realization has greatly influenced my approach to teaching, and I strive to bring the same level of enthusiasm and engagement to my own students.
  • What are your keys to success?

The key to my success is encapsulated in one word: 'Persistence'. It's the persistence to not settle for complex and confusing explanations of a concept. Instead, I continuously explore different perspectives and explanations until I find one that resonates with me, one that sparks that 'Aha' moment. This relentless pursuit of clarity and understanding is what drives my success in both learning and teaching mathematics.
