I work according to the methods "Active Recall" and "Spaced Repetition". The first method is based on the principle of actively thinking about things, actively provoking them and thus internalizing them better. This can be done by small tests or queries in between or, especially in mathematics, by calculating tasks. In other subjects, index cards are a tried and tested means. The principle of the second method is that you keep things long-term if you repeat them at time intervals. This anchors knowledge deeper in the brain and is easier to access.
