About Mitch
For most of my youth, I was top of my class in mathematics. Due to switching to online school during middle school, I rejoined in-person school in high school with a large knowledge gap. I hated math! However, I reunited with math after my undergrad thanks to the guidance of several professors and am now on the path to becoming a professor of mathematics. I know what it is like to struggle with math and want to help connect others with the fun world of mathematics. I have a knack for honing in on what topics are holding a student back and will work at whatever pace is best for the student to overcome those obstacles.

Mathematics is often taught in a way that is very confusing and frustrating. Many teachers bury the fun of mathematics in jargon and poorly thought out examples (that are often much easier than the questions on the test!). I approach learning at the student's pace and make mathematics more approachable. The secret to my method is the use of numerous probing questions to identify learning gaps. Mathematics is far more comprehensive than other subjects, and more complicated concepts are often unattainable until a concept that was covered years ago is mastered. After identifying what is stopping learning, I them formulate practice problems that attack the concept from every angle (instead of just the easiest version of the problem!) so the student is prepared for any scenario they may encounter.
