About Ali
I’m a dedicated full-time math tutor with over 5 years of experience working with students in Grades 7–12.
I specialize in helping students truly understand mathematical concepts rather than simply memorize steps. Whether a student is struggling with the basics, working through current school material, or preparing for an upcoming test or exam, I adjust my explanations and pace to match their individual needs.
My goal is to help students strengthen their understanding, build confidence, and become more independent problem-solvers over time.
I’m patient, approachable, and happy to explain a concept in different ways until it makes sense.

Lessons are structured around each student’s current needs, goals, and level of understanding.
We can work through school lessons, homework, assignments, upcoming tests and exams, or specific concepts the student is finding difficult. I explain topics clearly and step by step, work through guided examples, and then give students the opportunity to solve problems themselves with support when needed.
I cover Grades 7–12 mathematics based on the Ontario curriculum, including both day-to-day school support and focused test or exam preparation.
During lessons, students are encouraged to ask questions and actively participate. If an explanation does not click the first time, I approach the concept from a different angle until we find a method that makes sense to the student.
My teaching approach is simple:
Understand the “why” → work through examples → practise independently → build confidence.
The goal is not just to finish today’s homework, but to help students develop the understanding and problem-solving skills they can use on their own.
