About Olivia

I earned my B.S. in Mathematics from UCLA and have spent the last five years tutoring students throughout Los Angeles. As a former TA for UCLA’s introductory math courses, I created review materials, led group study sessions, and guided students through challenging concepts. My approach makes math approachable by connecting abstract ideas—like functions or proofs—to real-world scenarios, so you not only understand the steps but also see why they matter.

About the lesson

I begin by pinpointing gaps in arithmetic, algebra, or geometry, then progress to pre-calculus, trigonometry, and statistics. Lessons integrate visual aids (Desmos graphs, interactive charts) and real-world applications—like analyzing architectural designs, modeling sound waves in music, or interpreting sports data. We tackle step-by-step problem solving for trigonometric identities and functions, then transition to statistics topics such as data collection, probability, and interpreting distributions using practical examples (e.g., survey results, game scores). I assign practice sets that mirror classroom tests and include mini “data projects” to apply statistical concepts. Throughout, I provide immediate feedback, personalized study tips, and exam strategies so you build confidence and mastery.
