About Walt

Hello! I’m Onyero Walter Ofuzim, a Graduate Student at the University of Calgary. I have supported ENEL 469/680, ENSF 300, ENCM 369, and ENEL 441.
Why learn with me
* University experience: current UCalgary Grad TA with hands-on lab, assignment, and exam prep support.
* Clear, structured lessons: step-by-step explanations, annotated solutions, and targeted practice.
* Engineer’s perspective: controls/modeling background for practical, real-world problem-solving.
* Results you can see: goals set up front, progress checks each session, and action plans.
* Professional standards Prepared & punctual: every lesson has an agenda and tailored materials.
* Respect & inclusivity: patient, judgment-free environment; I adapt to your learning style.
* Academic integrity: I coach you to succeed, I don’t complete graded work.
* Confidentiality: your work and data stay private.
* Reliable policies: 24-hour rescheduling window; receipts on request; optional 10–15 min intro chat.

What to expect in your first lesson
* Quick diagnostic & goals (your course, deadlines, pain points).
* Core concept focus with visuals or code as needed.
* Guided → independent practice on exam-style problems.
* Mini plan for what to review and practice before the next session.
* You’ll receive tidy notes/solutions—and for coding, a Jupyter/MATLAB file to keep.

*Format & availability Calgary or online (Zoom/Meet) with digital whiteboard and shared resources.
Evenings/weekends available during term time; flexible during breaks.

My approach
* Diagnostic first: brief quiz or chat to find gaps and goals, then a custom plan (syllabus-aligned).
* Concept → method → practice: build intuition, formalise with formulas, then apply to exam-style problems.
* Active learning: worked examples → “fade-out” steps → you solve; lots of why-questions and quick checks.
* Memory tools: spaced recall, error logs, and mini-summaries to make ideas stick.
* Dual coding: sketches, block diagrams, and code notebooks (Python/MATLAB) alongside equations (if needed).

A typical lesson (60–90 min)
* Check-in (5 min): wins, roadblocks, and today’s target.
* Concept map (10 min): 1–2 key ideas with visuals or quick derivation.
* Guided practice (25–35 min): exam-style problems solved together; we annotate steps and common traps.
* Independent try (10–15 min): you solve a parallel problem; I coach only where needed.
* Wrap-up (5 min): 3 takeaways + a tiny homework set with solutions.
* Extras (as needed): code walkthroughs, lab prep, or past-paper strategy.
You get: neat notes, solution outlines, and (for coding) a Jupyter/MATLAB file to keep.

What sets me apart
* University teaching experience: Graduate Teaching/Research Assistant at UCalgary (ENEL 469/680, ENSF 300, ENCM 369, ENEL 441).
* Clarity + patience: I translate concepts into plain language and concrete steps.
* A systems mindset: practical problem-solving.
* Structured progress: quick diagnostics, visible milestones, and feedback each week.

Who my lessons are for
*University: First-year to senior undergrads; early grad students who want a strong foundation.
*Courses: Calculus I–III, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Probability/Stats, Physics I/II; Circuits, Signals & Systems, Digital Control; engineers.
* Exam prep & labs: midterms/finals, lab write-ups, and project guidance (no doing graded work—ethics first).
* Levels: AP/IB high-schoolers aiming for STEM, college transfers, and returning learners.

Format & tools
* Calgary or online (Zoom/Meet).
* Tools: digital whiteboard, Desmos, Jupyter/MATLAB Live Scripts, shared Google Drive folders.
* Between sessions: quick check-ins and targeted practice sets
