About Charm Sum
I have been a math and music teacher for 20 years in my home country. My students enjoyed my teaching and got high performance in examinations. We have taken a lot of pictures at the end of semesters. Moreover, I conducted a band with more than 50 members. We had a performance every Christmas and had a lot of fun in it. Now, I am a Sunday School teacher at St. Agnes Kouying Tsao Parish. So, I have completed the volunteer screening. Furthermore, I have got my vulnerable sector check.

I have participated in a lot of research on linking students' skillsets and the topic concepts. For instance, most students feel confused about why whole numbers with negative exponents (eg. 2^-3 = 1/8) are fractions when they are told. A lot of teaching materials and teaching plans miss the essential procedure to build the concepts they will need in the advanced topics like functions and calculus. I always start with the skills and concepts my students possess. For example, I showed a geometric sequence they have learned: 2^3(=8) -- ÷2 --> 2^2(=4) -- ÷2 --> 2^1(=2) -- ÷2 --> 2^0(=1) -- ÷2 --> 2^-1(=1/2) -- ÷2 --> 2^-2(=1/4) . The second half of this sequence helps them to build not only the concept of negative exponents but also the concept of any number to the power of zero equal to 1. A professional educator can also discover the prerequisites which the student has not grasped. In this example, the prerequisites include the concepts of positive exponents (2^3=2x2x2), geometric sequence (Gn = 2xGn-1), and the relationship between fraction and division (1÷2=1/2). A successful teacher is always aware of the prerequisites and preparation for each topic.

Charm Shum is kind and patient He really cares about his students and will teaches at the students' ability level with a step by step approach.
Samson was my primary school teacher and we have stayed connected via social media over the last 20+ years. It was such an honor and blessing to have Samson in my childhood life not only his genuine patience, love and care for his students but also his teaching and skills in explaining is admirable.
In life, I also look up to him as a role model and I know he inspire many too. He means what he says and he does what preaches. He always stays positive and overcomes challenges in many ways.
Therefore, I highly recommend Samson as a teacher given he is an industrious, reliable, trustworthy, passionate, talented and individual who has many years of experience in teaching.Samson is an experienced Maths teacher. Having worked with him for a few years in the same school, I have seen his professionalism in teaching and most importantly, patience and thoughtfulness to students. I highly recommend Samson to other members on Superprof.
Mr. Samson is one of the best teacher I've met. He is patient and kind enough to overcome many difficulties with me, and make me feel cared and loved.
